躁鬱症是一種經常被誤診的心理疾病。Eric 是在大學時期經歷一次急性發作後,才得知自己患有躁鬱症。這場講座將由李偉倩博士從臨床角度介紹何謂躁鬱症,並由 Eric 分享他走出躁鬱症的真實人生經歷,包括他第一次發病、接受診斷、在過程中對自我和生命的省思,學習自我照顧,進而投身於聖塔克拉拉縣自殺防治中心 988 熱線的工作,以及他對未來的展望。

講員簡介:李偉倩是普度大學心理諮商博士,史丹福大學博士後研究,全國認證的臨床心理醫師,曾任教於加州州立大學聖荷西分校。
Eric J. Chou 是 Honor Games 遊戲新創公司的創辦人,同時也是作家、研究者,以及聖塔克拉拉郡 988 危機熱線的社區工作者。他擁有加州大學爾灣分校心理學學士學位,並於 Foothill 社區學院獲得心理學與自然科學通識兩項副學士學位。Eric 本身有視力障礙及躁鬱症第一型的診斷,致力於探索心理學與科技的交會。他計劃進一步攻讀網路心理學(Cyberpsychology)研究碩士學位。工作之餘,他熱愛創意專案、科幻影集、美食與閱讀。

Bipolar Disorder Demystified: A Clinical and Personal Perspective
Bipolar Disorder is a mental health condition that is often misdiagnosed. Eric first learned he had bipolar disorder after experiencing an acute episode during college. In this bilingual webinar, Dr. Wei-chien Lee will provide a clinical overview of bipolar disorder, followed by Eric’s powerful personal story. He will share his journey from the onset of his symptoms to receiving a diagnosis, how he came to understand himself and reflect on life, and how he developed tools for self-care. Eric now works at the Santa Clara County Suicide & Crisis Lifeline 988, and he will also share his hopes for the future.
Join us as we explore and demystify bipolar disorder through both clinical insights and life experience.

Speaker: Wei-Chien Lee, PhD, clinical psychologist and Eric Chou
Speaker Bio: Wei-chien Lee: Ph.D. Counseling Psychology from Purdue University. Stanford Postdoc. Licensed Clinical Psychologist and National Certified Counselor. Former faculty at San Jose State. Provided more than 500 trainings and workshops to community members, mental health providers, and organizations to improve mental health.
Eric J. Chou is the founder of Honor Games, a video game startup, as well as a published author, researcher, and mental health community worker with Santa Clara County’s 988 crisis line. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from UC Irvine and two associate degrees from Foothill College.Living with vision impairment and a bipolar I diagnosis, Eric is passionate about the intersection of psychology and technology. He plans to pursue a master’s degree in cyberpsychology research. Outside of work, he enjoys creative projects, science fiction, good food, and great books.
