Discusses the 4th trimester, the period after the birth of a baby, the changes that occur, the opportunities to enhance parent wellbeing and plan for as well as promote self-care during this important time.  This 1-hour virtual group session is ideal for parents and their support partner(s) who are preparing for the birth of a baby.  Session is free and meets once every month; and brought to you by the Maternal Outreach Mood Services (MOMS) Program & Scrivner Center for Mental Health & Addiction Services.

Diabetes Prevention Series

Culturally tailored for Chinese community members

• Based on CDC Diabetes Prevention Program

• Adapted to dietary and health needs of Chinese population

• Virtual class conducted in Mandarin

• 4-month curriculum, including two major parts:

• Diabetes basics, taught by a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist

• Build healthy lifestyle through diet, exercise, sleep, and stress reduction. Taught by registered dietitians, trainer, meditation instructor, clinical psychologist

The online program is completely free and conducted in Mandarin

Those who register before 8/3 will receive a free one-on-one consultation with a dietitian, as well as a *Hemoglobin A1c test. *This is a fingerpick hemoglobin A1c test, which will be offered at a screening event held at El Camino Health Los Gatos Hospital on August 5th.

Date: weekly class from 8/21 - 12/11

Time: Friday; 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

The program is completely free. Participants need to complete pre and post surveys and provide their Hemoglobin A1C scores before the program begins and after the program ends to evaluate outcomes.

Reviews the cesarean (C-section) birth and surgical procedure, expectations and postoperative recovery.  This 1½-hour virtual session is ideal for expectant mothers, partners and parents, and offers interactive chat with live Q&A.  Taught by our Labor & Delivery nurses.  Recommended to be taken in the 7th month to the early 9th month of pregnancy.  

Fee per couple or household:  $10

Registration, Privacy & Refund Policy: No recordings are available.  For a full refund, you must request to cancel registration at least three (3) days prior to class start date, otherwise a transfer or credit will be issued.

Learn On-Demand video about topics of pregnancy, labor, birth postpartum, breastfeeding, CPR, infant sleep and so much more; brought to you by Tinyhood  ($155 value).  A collection of twenty-four (24) excellent videos that El Camino families can access anytime for FREE for up to a year after signing up. 

Pre-Induction of Labor Education is a self- paced course that provides a brief overview of how labor can be induced. Highlights include various methods needed to soften the cervix and begin early labor. The scheduling process, and what to expect before your baby is born will also be included in this presentation.
